Taylor Swift to kick off North American tour in March
After a week-long media blitz behind her brand new "Red," country superstar Taylor Swift has unleashed an extensive North American itinerary to support the effort.
The multi-platinum songstress will kick off the 2013 schedule March 13-14 in Omaha, NE, followed by another 44 cities spread across the continent. Most venues have not yet been confirmed, though a handful of stadiums have been announced in places such as Dallas (5/25); Vancouver (6/29) and Chicago (8/10).
Tickets for the outing, which will feature opening support from singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran, go on sale Nov. 16 via Swift's website. Every performance will include tickets under $50 per the performer's request, according to a press release.
"I didn't think I could be any more excited about my 'Red' album, but then I start thinking about how I'm going to put the new show together for 'The Red Tour,'" Swift said in a press release. "I have so many ideas about how to really bring this music to life, and I can't wait to share the new show with all my fans!"
"Red," Swift's fourth studio album, surfaced Oct. 22 via Big Machine Records. The long-awaited effort comes two years after her chart-topping 2010 release, "Speak Now." The brand-new collection has already topped the iTunes Albums sales charts in 40 countries, according to a press release.
