The Walkmen plot quick theater trip
East Coast indie-rockers The Walkmen will hit a variety of major markets early next year in continued support of their recently released album, "Heaven."
Following an in-progress European run, the five-piece act will take to the road stateside beginning Jan. 11 in Philadelphia, followed by another 10 theater stops spread across the country. The winter outing, which features support by Father John Misty on all but the opening date, will wrap up Jan. 28 in Vancouver.
The Walkmen unveiled "Heaven," the group's seventh studio effort, in May via Fat Possum Records. Recorded in Seattle and produced by Phil Ek, the album peaked at No. 30 on The Billboard 200 and at No. 8 on the magazine's Independent Albums chart.
The Walkmen recently released two live videos filmed by La Blogotheque for "Heartbreaker" and "Heaven." The outfit will also unleash a limited edition 7" with two previously unreleased tracks, "Dance With Your Partner" and "Vermeer '65." The 1000 copies will be available Nov. 6, according to a press release.
