Metallica preps for pre-holiday live DVD release
Rock heavyweights Metallica will unleash a live DVD entitled "Quebec Magnetic" just in time for the upcoming holiday season.
The DVD, which will feature 18 tracks along with an additional eight bonus songs, will hit retailers Dec. 10 via the band's own label. Two formats will be available, a double DVD and a single-disc Blu-ray, each for $15.98, according to the band's website.
"There are still some 'i's' being dotted and 't's' crossed, so we can't give you a name or fancy logo just yet, but we're pretty excited that for the first time we get to hold all the reins on a release from start to finish," the band said in a press release.
Music video director Wayne Isham captured two "World Magnetic" shows in Quebec City in 2009. The setlists from those two shows were voted on by fans before the performance, and all songs performed are on the DVD, according to the band's site.
Metallica has a handful of international gigs on the schedule, including a round of appearances at Australia's Soundwave Festival and a Sept. 2013 stop in Brazil.
