Ben Harper unveils solo acoustic run in time for "By My Side"
Singer/songwriter Ben Harper will take on his first-ever solo acoustic tour later this month ahead of a retrospective entitled "By My Side."
The eclectic rocker and guitarist will begin the intimate "An Acoustic Evening with Ben Harper" run with a Sept. 26 show in Ann Arbor, MI, followed by theater stops in eight North American markets before concluding with his first headlining performance Oct. 10 at New York City's Carnegie Hall.
Harper will then head Down Under for a round of November shows spread throughout New Zealand and Australia.
"By My Side," a 12-track collection spanning Harper's 20-year discography, hits retailers Oct. 16 via Virgin/EMI Records. The effort, which will be available in both CD and vinyl formats, features established tracks such as "Diamonds on the Inside," "Forever" and "Gold To Me," as well as a new ballad entitled "Crazy Amazing" and a rare studio version of "Not Fire Not Ice."
Harper's 10th and most recent studio set, "Give Till It's Gone," surfaced in May 2011 and peaked at No. 15 on The Billboard 200.
