Megadeth celebrate 20th anniversary of "Countdown to Extinction"
Heavy-metal icons Megadeth will canvas parts of the U.S. this fall to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their 1992 effort, "Countdown to Extinction."
The California-based outfit will finish up the in-progress world trek behind "Thirt3en" with a handful of South America and Mexico shows before kicking off the anniversary run with a Nov. 9 performance in Providence, RI. Eighteen theater shows are on the schedule, which extends through a Dec. 7 concert in Pomona, CA.
Megadeth will perform their multi-platinum fifth studio set, "Countdown to Extinction," in its entirety on the fall tour, as well as release a special anniversary two-disc edition of the album Nov. 6 via Capitol/EMI Records.
Pre-sale tickets and VIP packages are on sale now via the band's website, while general on-sales begin Sept. 14.
Megadeth most recently released "Thirt3en," the group's 13th studio album, last November via Roadrunner Records. The collection, co-produced by frontman Dave Mustaine and Grammy-nominated Johnny K, debuted at No. 11 on The Billboard 200.
