My Morning Jacket adds New York to "Spontaneous Curation Series"
My Morning Jacket continues its "Spontaneous Curation Series" with a trio of New York performances just before the New Year.
The five-piece rock outfit is in the midst of the first round of the trek, which continues with two performances in Los Angeles tonight and tomorrow (9/12-9/13). Following an Oct. 6 appearance at Nashville's Soundland Festival and two Mexico shows, the band will take a break before heading to Port Chester, NY, for the three consecutive performances, slated for Dec. 27-29. A New Year's Eve concert (12/31) in Boston.
Each show will be partially curated by the audience, which can request songs via Twitter. No songs will be repeated for each of the gigs, according to a press release, and the entire discography is available throughout the "Spontaneous Curation Series," as well as rarities and covers.
Fans who purchase tickets for the New York shows will also receive a live download of that show. General on-sales begin Friday (9/14); details are available at the group's website.
