Following their in-progress world tour, New York City indie rockers fun. will rally for equal rights on a handful of college campuses this fall as part of the Reverb Campus Consciousness Tour.

The trio, comprised of lead singer Nate Ruess, multi-instrumentalist Andrew Dost and guitarist/trumpeter Jack Antonoff, will complete a round of European shows that continue Sept. 19 in Amsterdam and extend through late October.

The college trek, which is co-sponsored by Reverb and Ben & Jerry's and promotes social activism among students, gets underway Oct. 31 in Portland, ME, and ventures through nine other college towns throughout the eastern U.S., wrapping up Nov. 18 in Elmhurst, IL. This marks the second year the outfit has joined forces with the awareness tour, which is focusing on LGBTQ equality on this trip.

"Colleges are fertile ground for activism and change," Ruess said in a press release. "It's exactly where we need to be as we launch our support for LGBTQ equality."

Pre-sale tickets are available now via the band's website.

Fun. released its sophomore set, "Some Nights," in February. The 11-track album, which follows 2010's "Aim and Ignite," is the group's first on the Fueled by Ramen label and peaked at No. 3 on The Billboard 200.

The album's lead single, "We Are Young" featuring Janelle Monae, has topped Billboard's Hot 100 and earned the honor of top-selling track of 2012 to date, according to a press release.
