Smashing Pumpkins confirm U.S. dates behind "Oceania"

The Smashing Pumpkins have finalized their first round of U.S. shows in support of their recent release, "Oceania."
The iconic alt-rockers, helmed by singer/guitarist Billy Corgan, will first complete a pair of Mexican concerts in late September.
The North American leg of the tour gets underway Oct. 2 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, taking on four Canadian markets before slipping into the U.S. beginning Oct. 10 in Everett, WA. The U.S. portion includes 14 performances through a Nov. 4 show in Uncasville, CT.
Citi cardmembers can access pre-sale tickets through Sept. 6 via the Private Pass program's website.
A limited number of VIP packages are also available, offering fans the opportunity to have elevated viewing access at the show, as well as a three-song backstage performance, Q&A with the band, autographed poster, VIP concierge service and more. General on-sale information will be released soon, according to a press release.
For each stop on the North American trek, Smashing Pumpkins will perform their latest effort, "Oceania," in its entirety, followed by a set featuring classic songs from their 20-year discography. The music will be accompanied by video and new projection technology from visual artist Sean Evans, who also worked on Roger Waters' "The Wall" tour.
"Oceania" hit retailers in June via EMI and Martha's Music, debuting at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 and at the top of the magazine's Independent Albums chart. The band recorded the 13-song collection in Corgan's own Chicago studio.
