Dropkick Murphys add more U.S. shows to 2012 schedule

Celtic punk-rockers Dropkick Murphys have extended their summer trek across the U.S. as they continue supporting last spring's "Going Out In Style."
The Massachusetts natives have a seven-date East Coast leg dubbed the "Halfway to St. Patrick's Day Tour" slated for September, after which the band will take a month-long break.
Since last check, the outfit has tacked another 14 shows, beginning Oct. 29 in Grand Rapids, MI, and extending through a Nov. 16 performance in Urbana, IL.
Dropkick Murphys revealed "Going Out In Style," the group's seventh studio effort, in March 2011 via their own Born & Bred Records. The album surfaced four years after "The Meanest of Times," marking the band's longest lapse between studio releases.
"Going Out In Style" debuted at No. 6 on The Billboard 200, making it the rockers' highest charting release to date.
Dropkick Murphys are nearing the completion of a new, as-yet-untitled album that is slated to drop sometime next year, according to a press release.
