Cat Power plans club and theater gigs behind "Sun"

Songstress Cat Power will spend some time on the North American tour trail later this fall in support of her forthcoming new album, "Sun."
The singer/songwriter, otherwise known as Chan Marshall, will kick off the fall journey with an Oct. 11 show in Miami, followed by an Oct. 13 appearance at the Corona Capital Music Festival in Mexico City.
The North American excursion ventures through 14 major markets, including several Canadian stops. The trek is currently slated to wrap up Nov. 8 in Hollywood.
Cat Power is set to unveil "Sun," her first new material in over six years, Aug. 31. The 11-track album was self-produced in several locations, including her own Malibu studio, and follows 2006's "The Greatest," which scaled Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart.
Fans can pre-order the album or download the impending effort's lead single, "Ruin," now via Power's website.
