Gov't Mule ventures through western U.S.
Southern jam-rockers Gov't Mule will spend some time on the U.S. tour trail later this summer, including a handful of West Coast dates.
The four-piece act, comprised of singer/guitarist Warren Haynes, drummer Matt Abs, bassist Jorgen Carlsson and keyboardist Danny Louis, will first make an Aug. 18 appearance in Cockeysville, MD, before officially kicking off the latest leg with a Sept. 12 show in Englewood, CO. Another three Colorado performances follow before the band moves to the West Coast for the first time since 2010.
Anders Osborne will provide opening support for three of the Colorado shows, while The Revivalists will handle the California and Nevada dates.
The itinerary also includes Gov't Mule's Island Exodus IV, a five-day, four-night cruise to Jamaica during which Gov't Mule, Warren Haynes and Anders Osborne will perform. That adventure is slated for Jan. 16-20. More information is available at the outfit's website.
Gov't Mule most recently unveiled "Mulennium," a live release which surfaced in 2010. "By A Thread," the band's ninth and most recent studio set, hit retailers in 2009 and was the first album to feature Carlsson, who stepped in in 2008 after the departure of Andy Hess.
