Flobots travel behind "Circle In The Square"
Alternative hip-hop group Flobots will spend the remainder of the summer and part of the fall on the road in support of the forthcoming new album, "The Circle In The Square."
The five-piece Denver act will first complete a trio of late August performances before beginning the official trek Sept. 14 in Missoula, MT. Another 37 club and theater gigs across the continent follow, including the Nov. 3 wrap-up in Englewood, CO.
Flobots will release "The Circle In The Square," the group's third studio set, Aug. 28 via Shananchie Records.
The socio-political activists/musicians recorded and produced the album entirely by themselves, according to a press release.
"Our agenda is to create music that is true to who we are as people and that includes our experiences, our communities and our world,"vocalist Jonny 5 explained. "When you have friends who are personally affected by marriage discrimination or immigration policy, it makes you want to say something about these issues."
The summertime release follows the band's 2010 effort, "Survival Story," which peaked at No. 44 on The Billboard 200 and at No. 11 on the magazine's Rock Albums chart.
