Mary J. Blige, D'Angelo work out "Liberation" dates

Grammy-winning R&B songstress Mary J. Blige will join forces with D'Angelo this summer for a month-long outing dubbed "The Liberation Tour."
The two chart-topping musicians will begin the U.S. trek with an Aug. 18 performance in Virginia Beach, VA, followed by a handful of East Coast shows through the end of that month. The outing then moves westward, finishing up Sept. 15 in Chicago.
Tickets for the summertime run are on sale now via Blige's website.
Blige continues touring behind her latest studio set, "My Life II...The Journey Continues (Act 1)." That Matriarch Records release, which surfaced in November, marks the sequel to her 1994 effort, "My Effort." The double-platinum album peaked at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 and at No. 2 on the magazine's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
D'Angelo returned to the stage earlier this month (7/6) at New Orleans' Essence Music Festival, marking his first performance in 10 years. The singer, who recently pled guilty to disorderly conduct after his March 2010 arrest for allegedly soliciting an undercover officer for a sex act, is working on a new studio set, reportedly titled "James River." The forthcoming album, which has no official drop date, will be D'Angelo's first new collection since 2000's "Voodoo."
