Umphrey's McGee spends summer with "Death By Stereo"
Prog/jam-rockers Umphrey's McGee have extended their summer road work in continued support of last fall's "Death By Stereo."
The Indiana outfit will take to the stage July 6 in Geneva, MN, and work its way toward the East Coast by month's end. The summertime outing features several festival stops, including appearances at Whippersnap Music & Arts Festival in Rockford, IL (7/21); Summer Set Music Festival in Somerset, WI (8/24-26); North Coast Music Festival in Chicago, (9/1-2); and the Austin City Limits Music Festival (10/12), among others.
The schedule also includes several days in Big Indian, NY, for an event they've dubbed "sUMmer school." The five-day musical camp, slated for Aug. 6-10, will provide an opportunity for 150 musicians and music lovers to get up close and personal with the band's work.
Umphrey's McGee most recently unveiled "Death By Stereo," the sixth studio effort, last September via ATO Records. The 13-track album follows their 2009 set, "Mantis," which peaked at No. 6 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart.
