Weezer plots summer excursion, new "Memories" gig
Alt-rock outfit Weezer will make appearances across the nation this summer and fall, mixing a handful of festival gigs with headlining shows, including a pair of special "Memories" shows in Florida.
The multi-platinum L.A. band will begin the road trip with a July 13 performance in Buffalo, NY, and continue for another four shows through that month's end. After a six-week break, the rockers will reconvene for two shows: Sept. 14 in Rama, Ontario, and Sept. 15 in Baltimore. Two mid-October festival appearances are also on the schedule.
November's itinerary currently shows three shows in Florida, including the two "Memories" shows in Orlando, during which the band will perform "The Blue Album" in its entirety on the first night (11/10) and "Pinkerton" on the other (11/11).
Weezer most recently unleashed "Death to False Metal," the band's ninth studio effort, in November 2010. The Geffen Records release, which is comprised of several previously unreleased tracks, follows their September 2010 album, "Hurley." That set debuted at No. 6 on The Billboard 200.
Fans can purchase digital bootlegs of the band's January Weezer Cruise, as well as shows from last year's Memories Tour and gigs as far back as 2009 at the outfit's website.
