Sondre Lerche plots U.S. course behind "Bootlegs"
Singer/songwriter Sondre Lerche will spend September touring across the U.S. in support of a forthcoming live album entitled "Bootlegs."
The Norwegian-born musician will kick off the stateside outing with a Sept. 5 performance in New York City, followed by another 18 club and theater shows scattered from coast to coast. The trek wraps up Sept. 29 in Austin, TX.
Lerche will unveil "Bootlegs" Sept. 4 via Mona Records. The live effort was recorded at Hulen in Bergen, Norway, as well as various clubs in Brooklyn, NY.
"For 12 years I've had to endure the constant disappointment of hearing professional multi-track live recordings of my shows," Lerche explained in a press release. "This was the first time I had actually felt excited upon hearing a recording of one of my shows. The crowd is enthusiastic but easily distracted and rowdy; it's a Saturday night in Norway. This is as close to the feeling of actually being up on stage as I'll ever get on a record."
Mona Records will also press Lerche's first four albums -- "Faces Down," "Two Way Monologue," "Duper Sessions" and "Phantom Punch" -- on vinyl. Bonus tracks and outtakes will also be added, according to a press release.
Lerche's released an eponymous sixth studio set in June 2011. That effort features guest appearances by drummer McKenzie Smith (Midlake), drummer Dave Heilman (Jupiter One) and producer/mixer Nicolas Verhnes (Spoon, Animal Collective).
