Jonathan Coulton takes "Artificial Heart" on the road
Self-proclaimed geek-rocker Jonathan Coulton has planned a spring club and theater outing in support of his latest release, "Artificial Heart."
The Brooklyn-based former computer programmer is preparing for the tour's June 1 launch in Boston, followed by another dozen performances that span the nation. The late spring trek includes two Canadian stops: June 6 in Toronto and July 23 in Vancouver.
Coulton released "Artificial Heart," his 10th studio set, in September. The 18-track effort, which was produced by They Might Be Giants' John Flansburgh, topped Billboard's Heatseekers chart and at No. 16 on the magazine's Alternative Albums chart.
Coulton, who recently performed at PAX East, an annual gaming conference, is also hard at work on NPR's quiz show, "Ask Me Another," for which the musician provides clues and hosts occasional shows, according to a press release.
