Randy Travis continues on "Anniversary Celebration"
Country singer Randy Travis has expanded his in-progress trek celebrating his 25th anniversary as a musician, tacking on a slew of casino and club gigs spread across the continent.
The celebratory outing, aptly titled the "Anniversary Celebration" tour, kicked off last summer and continues next week with a March 3 performance in Coachella, CA. Since last check, another 15 stops have been added to the journey, which now runs through a July 14 concert in Mount Vernon, KY.
Travis most recently released, "Blessed Assurance," in October. The gospel collection follows "Anniversary Celebration," a set of duets honoring his 25 years in the music business. That effort surfaced last June via Warner Bros. Records and features several special guests, including Zac Brown Band, Kenny Chesney, Don Henley, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood and Willie Nelson, among others.
Earlier this month, the six-time Grammy winner was arrested on public intoxication charges in Denton, TX, following the Super Bowl. Denton, about an hour north of Dallas, is close to Travis' ranch in Tioga, TX.
The 52-year-old country star released an apology the following day, saying "I apologize for what resulted following an evening of celebrating the Super Bowl. I'm committed to being responsible and accountable, and apologize for my actions."
