Ryan Adams readies for "Ashes & Fire" debut with theater shows
Singer/songwriter Ryan Adams has plotted his first solo course since 2009 for later this fall in support of his forthcoming album, "Ashes & Fire."
The former Whiskeytown frontman will begin the 10-date road trip with an Oct. 11 performance in San Diego. The intimate solo tour will work its way north along the West Coast, finishing up with an Oct. 21 appearance at Seattle's City Arts Fest.
Tickets go on sale Friday via the musician's website.
Adams is set to release "Ashes & Fire," his eighth solo effort, Oct. 11 via his own Capitol Records' imprint, PAX-AM Records. The 11-track set, which features Norah Jones on backing vocals, was recorded at the Sunset Sound Factory in Hollywood. The project also marks the first time the performer has worked with producer Glyn Johns (Bob Dylan, The Beatles), whose son Ethan Johns produced three previous Adams releases: "Heartbreaker," "Gold" and "29."
The forthcoming collection follows last year's "Orion," a self-described "fully-realized sci-fi metal concept album," according to his website.
