Rush shuffles two dates ahead of tour launch
With the band's "Time Machine Tour" getting ready to relaunch later this week, prog rock trio Rush has made a couple of changes to its itinerary.
The group's planned Friday (4/1) show at Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, NC, has been pushed back a day to Saturday (4/2), and the planned April 6 show at the Huntington Center in Toledo, OH, has been moved to April 13. Tickets for both shows will be honored on the rescheduled dates; refunds are also available at the point of purchase, according to promoter Live Nation. The changes are due to "unforeseen circumstances," according to the promoter.
Rush's "Time Machine Tour" launched last summer, and this year's tour will focus on North American markets that the trio missed last time around.
The next leg of the journey begins March 30 in Sunrise, FL, and continues throughout the eastern portion of the continent through late April. Following a month-long European portion, the outfit will return stateside for another 12 gigs, beginning June 8 in Greenville, SC, and moving westward.
Each concert will feature the performance of the band's biggest selling album, 1981's "Moving Pictures," in its entirety, according to a press release. The band will also play other favorites.
The band will donate $1 of each ticket sold to benefit relief efforts in Haiti through various charities, including Doctors Without Borders. A portion of the band's proceeds will be donated at the end of the tour, as well.
