Rihanna cranks up "Loud" tour for North America this summer
Rihanna, who's lining up the busiest touring year of her young career, has confirmed the first seven North American dates of her "Loud" tour, which has already proven to be a hot ticket overseas.
The North American leg of the tour is set to kick off June 4 in Baltimore, and dates are currently scheduled into late July. More shows will be confirmed soon, according to promoter Live Nation. Tickets start to roll out on Monday (2/14).
The R&B star is scheduled to kick off her extensive world tour Feb. 25 in Australia. In the fall, she opens a sold out, 45-date European tour that includes six nights at London's O2 Arena.
The "Loud" tour is being touted by promoters as an all-new production with new "costumes and stage design creating a visual and audio event with the once in a lifetime excitement her fans around the world have come to expect from one of the brightest stars in music today."
Rihanna's fifth album, "Loud," was released in November, and sold 207,000 copies in the U.S. during its first week out -- the best initial-week sales of her career.
"We're creating an incredible ride with this tour," Rihanna said in a press release. "I'm excited to get out on the road and share my new music from this album."
Rihanna's 2010 tour visited 44 markets around the world and drew almost 500,000 fans, according to Live Nation.
