A new Phish studio album--the band’s first since 2000’s “Farmhouse"--is scheduled to hit stores on Dec. 10.
News of the new release, titled “Round Room,” comes as somewhat of a surprise. According to a posting on the band’s official website, the album grew from rehearsals for the band’s upcoming New Year’s shows.
The album’s 12 tracks, recorded in four days in October by producer Bryce Goggin (Pavement, The Ramones), clock in at more than 70 minutes.
Phish will end a two-year hiatus with a New Year’s Eve performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
The band’s website also reveals that, “in addition to their sold-out New Year’s shows, Phish will hit the road several times in 2003, including a run of dates in the second half of February that spans both coasts--details to follow in the coming weeks.”
