Singer-songwriter Norah Jones is set to kick off in early June her first headlining tour of the United States with a pair of shows in New York.
Singer-songwriter Norah Jones is set to kick off in early June her first headlining tour of the United States with a pair of shows in New York.
Her headlining jaunt runs through much of June. She then tours as an opening act for the Indigo Girls through June 29, which she’ll follow with two shows at the Montreal Jazz Festival. After that, she will open a series of dates for the Dave Matthews Band.
“Come Away With Me,” Jones’ debut album, recently broke into the Top 20 on the Billboard 200 chart. Released on Feb. 26, the album was produced by legendary knob-turner Arif Mardin (Aretha Franklin, Bee Gees) with Jones, Jay Newland and Craig Street assisting. The album is a collection of originals by her Jones and her bandmates, as well as covers of songs by Hank Williams, J.D. Loudermilk and Hoagy Charmichael.
Jones is slated to appear on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” on Tuesday, June 4.
