Funeral arrangements set for Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes
A funeral for TLC member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes will take place on Thursday (5/2) in her home state of Georgia.
A funeral for TLC member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes will take place on Thursday (5/2) in her home state of Georgia.
TLC manager Bill Diggins, in a statement issued on Monday (4/29), said that services are set for 11 a.m. on Thursday at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, near Atlanta.
No cameras will be permitted inside the church.
A private wake for Lopes’ family members and friends will take place on Wednesday night (5/1) in Atlanta.
Details will be announced soon about a charitable organization established in Lopes’ name to which donations can be made in lieu of flowers.
Lopes’ mother Wanda and family, via Diggins’ statement, thanked Lopes’ “thousands of fans that have sent messages of condolences to them at this tragic time.”
Lopes died in car accident in Honduras last Thursday (4/25) when she, while passing another vehicle, reportedly swerved the SUV that she was driving to avoid an oncoming truck, which caused her vehicle to roll over several times. Police have said that speeding was a factor.
An autopsy took place in Honduras over the weekend, and her body was being flown to Atlanta on Monday (4/29), according to reports.
