DMX’s pair of Canadian concerts were canceled last weekend after officials refused to allow the rapper to enter the country.

According to the Calgary Sun, immigration officials at Calgary International Airport told DMX--real name Earl Simmons--upon his arrival on Saturday (Dec. 28) that he did not “meet the normal immigration requirements,” and subsequently sent him back to the U.S.

Officials would not give the paper details as to why Simmons--who was reportedly placed in a holding cell after getting “upset” with the officials--did not meet their requirements.

Refunds for tickets to Simmons’ Dec. 28 and 29 shows in Calgary and Saskatoon, respectively, are available at their point of purchase.

The immigration incident came just days after New York police arrested Simmons on Christmas Eve for allegedly making an unsafe lane change, and for subsequently presenting them with incorrect information when he was asked to produce his license and registration. Police charged him with failure to signal a lane change and possession of a forged document.
