A retrospective album that combines seven of the late R&B singer Aaliyah’s hits with six previously unreleased tracks is set for release on Dec. 10.
The previously released tracks that will appear on the new album are “Try Again,” “Back and Forth,” “One in a Million,” “Are You That Somebody,” “At Your Best (You Are Love),” “More than a Woman” and “I Care 4 U.”
The first single is a previously unreleased track titled “Miss You,” which premiered on AOL’s First Listen and on Netscape Music on Oct. 28.
The initial shipment of the album will also contain a DVD that features various Aaliyah music videos, including the hits “Try Again” and “One in a Million.” A portion of the proceeds from the album will be donated to the Aaliyah Memorial Foundation, which benefits the Revlon/UCLA Women’s Cancer Research Program and Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Harlem.
Aaliyah was killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas on Aug. 25, 2001, shortly after the release of her self-titled sophomore album. She was 22 years old.
