Bow Wow continues to support his latest release “Doggy Bag,” which went platinum just one month after its December 2001 release. It features the hit single “Take Ya Home.”
His 2000 album, “Beware of Dog,” sold more than 2 million copies, and spawned the No. 1 Rap single “Bow Wow (That’s My Name).”
The young star, who has dropped “Lil” from his moniker, appears in “Like Mike,” his first starring role in a feature film. The movie--about an orphaned teenager who becomes a great basketball player after he finds sneakers believed to have been worn by Michael Jordan--is set for a July 12 release.
Bow Wow won the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award for Best Male Artist in 2001. He again was nominated in the category this year, but the award went to R&B star Usher.
