The new Vin Diesel flick sports a two-disc soundtrack featuring one 10-track rock disc and one 10-track hip-hop disc. The rock collection includes first single “I Will Be Heard” by Hatebreed, as well as songs by Rammstein, Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale and others. The Color Red - “Clear” (RCA)

This Southern California rock group--notable for its wall-of-guitar sound--formed in 1994, and released its little-noticed debut album in 1999. “Clear,” the band’s major label debut, was produced by Johnny K, whose past credits include Disturbed, Loudmouth, Soil, and Machine Head. Two tracks from the CD are streaming at the band’s official website.

Allison Moorer - “Miss Fortune” (Universal South)

Moorer--the younger sister of Shelby Lynne--in her record-label biography, says of her sophomore album: “‘Miss Fortune’ was born in a place where hit singles, formats, and abdominizers don’t matter. Making it was easy, hard, fun, a pain in the butt, and altogether one of the best times of my life. It introduced me to a new way of making records, and I’m never looking back.” The album’s first single, “Cold in California,” is streaming at her label’s website.

Off by One - “Off by One” (LMC/MCA)

All members of this San Diego pop-punk quartet, currently on the road with the Vans Warped Tour, are under the age of 19, with the exception of 21-year-old lead singer Marc Gould. Among the 13 tracks is a cover of “Torn,” the Ednaswap song popularized by Natalie Imbruglia. More information is available at the band’s website.

Jim Brickman - “Love Songs & Lullabies” (Windham Hill)

Less than a year after releasing his previous album, “Simple Things,” Brickman returns with a collection of 12 new tracks. The album’s first single, “You,” features vocals from former “Ally McBeal” actor Jane Krakowski, who appears with Brickman on his August PBS concert special. More information about the album and the PBS show is available at Brickman’s official website.

Phil Vassar - “American Child” (Arista)

Vassar’s sophomore effort features the hit title track, which sits at No. 17 on last week’s Radio & Records country airplay chart. Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty and Miles Zuniga of Fastball co-wrote some of the album’s songs. Vassar’s website has posted a feature titled “American Child, Cut-By-Cut,” which contains Vassar’s written commentary on each of the new album’s songs.
