Just a few days after announcing the postponement of her "Born This Way Ball," Lady Gaga has undergone hip surgery and is recovering with the help of fan support.

Earlier this month, Gaga unveiled she had been dealing with chronic pain from a show injury incurred weeks prior. Due to doctor's orders, the pop superstar canceled the remaining dates on the trek, which was slated to canvas the nation through the spring.

Late Wednesday (2/20), Gaga posted a statement at her Little Monsters website.

"Monsters, You really gave me a lot of strength today ... As they wheeled me into surgery today, I thought about all of your pain and perseverance, your unique family situations, school environments, health issues, homelessness, identity struggles -- sometimes you are so brave that it terrifies me. ... So I thought to myself, I'm alive, I'm living my dream, and this is just a bump in the road. ... If you can do it, I can do it too, and if we stick together we can get through anything."

Ticketholders can return to the point of purchase for refunds. No word yet on when Gaga might get back on the road.
