"Tennessee Waltz" songstress Patti Page dies

Pop icon Patti Page, singer of classics like "Tennessee Waltz" and "(How Much Is That) Doggie In the Window," died at the age of 85.

The Oklahoma native, born Clara Ann Fowler, died New Year's Day (1/1) at her home in Encinitas, CA, according to a press release.

Page, the best-selling artist of the 1950s, earned 111 top singles, including her first million-selling song, "With My Eyes Wide Open, I'm Dreaming." The songstress recorded her signature track, "Tennessee Waltz," in 1950. The single spent 13 weeks at the top of Billboard's Best-Sellers List.

In the 1970s and '80s, Page transitioned into country music, releasing singles like "You're Gonna Hurt Me," "No Aces" and "Hello, We're Lonely" with Tom T. Hall.

Page, who has a stars on both the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Country Music Walk of Fame, will be posthumously honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammy Award ceremony Feb. 9.
