Jon Bon Jovi, Kanye West, more helm "12-12-12" benefit

Jon Bon Jovi, Kanye West, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and The Who are among the acts slated to perform at a Dec. 12 concert to benefit Hurricane Sandy victims.

Jon Bon Jovi, Kanye West, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and The Who are among the acts slated to perform at a Dec. 12 concert to benefit Hurricane Sandy victims.

The Dec. 12 event will take place at New York City's Madison Square Garden and will also feature Paul McCartney and Roger Waters, among others who have yet to be announced. Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, The Weinstein Company and The Madison Square Garden Company are co-sponsoring the benefit -- the same group that put together the historic "Concert for New York City" following 9/11.

"'12-12-12' is shaping up to be a showcase of music royalty," the producers said in a joint statement. "The response from the entertainment community to help those most affected by Hurricane Sandy has been nothing short of astounding. We expect to announce additional legendary performers in the near future and we are confident that the event will ensure those in need will not be forgotten, and vital aid will be directed to rebuilding our communities along the East Coast."

Proceeds will benefit The Robin Hood Relief Fund, which provides money and materials to local organizations serving those directly affected by the hurricane.

Ticket information as well as further details about the event will be posted in the coming days at the the benefit's website.
