Mayer, Waters, Springsteen on Stand Up For Heroes benefit bill
The fundraising event, sponsored by the Bob Woodruff Foundation and the New York Comedy Festival, will take place Thursday (11/8) at New York City's Beacon Theatre.
Musical performances, including Waters' set with a band comprised of military veterans, will be streamed live via YouTube and on the Bob Woodruff Foundation's website, Remind.org.
"We look forward to this event all year, because we are always honored when we get to meet the inspirational men and women who have served our country so heroically," said Bob Woodruff, co-founder of the Bob Woodruff Foundation. "These performers simply want to help give back to the men and women who have sacrificed so much. We hope that the social media component, new this year, will enable more people to enjoy the show -- and will raise even more awareness for the cause that lies behind it."
In its five previous years, the Stand Up For Heroes benefit has raised more than $10 million to support wounded veterans and their families.
