British alt-rockers Coldplay selected the Pacific Northwest for the kickoff of their 2012 "Mylo Xyloto" tour, the band's first U.S. trek in four years.

Released last fall, "Mylo Xyloto" is Coldplay's fifth studio set, and it has since become the their third to debut at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 chart. NorCal fans can catch Chris Martin and co. tomorrow night (4/27,) at HP Pavilion in San Jose after which they head to SoCal for a three night stand (5/1, 5/2, 5/4) at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Coldplay is also headlining KROQ's annual Weenie Roast at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, CA on May 5. . The tour finale is scheduled for Aug 11 in St. Paul, MN.
