Since then Rock and his band have made their way around North America - most recently arriving last night (8/12) in his hometown of Detroit for the first of two shows at the city's Comerica Park.

The tour was originally scheduled to perform a single show at the Tigers' ballpark, but soon added a second show in response to overwhelming demand. Sammy Hagar and the Wabos are on the bill as the opening act. It's a safe bet that Hagar will have made a few thousand new friends this weekend, he and his band offered up a free day-long party outside the stadium prior to both shows.

SoundSpike photographer Chris Schwegler was among Kid Rock's guests at Friday's concert in Detroit and here are just some of his best shots.
