April 5, 2011 - Denmark's The Raveonettes emerged about eight years ago, hugging Everly Brothers harmonics and Phil Spector production values to their chests like inseparable imaginary pals. Although they were dismissed as one-trick ponies by many wags, they persevered to gain a new level of critical respect (though not without a considerable cost to album sales) when they adapted their throwback stylings to articulate a new gloomy, feedback-drenched direction more in line with The Jesus and Mary Chain than The Ronettes.

Entitled "Lust Lust Lust," the pair's fourth album is both self-produced and self-recorded, a tidbit that's not too surprising once you get to know these two do-it-yourself style musicians.
