Not only are The Walkmen inspired by such groups as The Pogues, The Velvet Underground, Joy Division and Pixies, they strive to achieve their sound by making a point of playing vintage instruments and recording in a converted industrial space, a studio dubbed Marcata Recording in Harlem.
The Walkmen are currently on a mini tour in support of their new album "You & Me," and are scheduled to play two more shows on the itinerary. Tonight (1/23) fans can catch them in Portland, OR, and tomorrow (1/24) in Seattle, WA.
