August 18, 2005 - The Doors of the 21st Century are no more. Keyboardist Ray Manzarek announced that the band, which includes two surviving members of The Doors, would now be known as Riders on the Storm.
July 25, 2005 - Drummer John Densmore won a permanent injunction last week preventing his former bandmates in The Doors from using that group's name in its tours.
May 31, 2005 - The Doors of the 21st Century--featuring surviving Doors members Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger with singer Ian Astbury--will lead this summer's "Strange Days Festival," an outing that will also feature John Kay & Steppenwolf, Vanilla Fudge, Pat Travers and The Yardbirds.
April 28, 2004 - With his low-octave vocals, wavy dark locks and musical references to Native American spirituality, former Cult frontman Ian Astbury had been compared to Jim Morrison long before any talk of a second-coming of The Doors. But now, as he performs with The Doors of the 21st Century, the resemblance--both in sight and sound--is downright eerie.
