October 10, 2010 - It's always painful to have to pick and choose who to write about when there is so much to see and hear. Nevertheless, the SoundSpike team braved the madding crowds to report back on a tiny sampling of some of the more arresting sounds that bounced out on the first day of the Austin City Limits Festival. Welcome to our notes from the field.
March 18, 2010 - Spoon, Austin's indie-rock golden child, played their hearts out during the closing set of the NPR-sponsored SXSW showcase last night (3/17) at Stubb's, but it didn't come without complaint.
February 4, 2010 - Spoon, She & Him, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Evan Dando are among the acts who've signed on to perform during this year's annual South by Southwest Music Conference and Festival in Austin, TX.
January 12, 2010 - Spoon will hit the road running this spring behind the band's new studio album, "Transference," lining up a full slate of headlining dates to support the set.
November 3, 2009 - Spoon's new album, "Transference," will be released in the US on Jan. 26, according to a press release. The album is the band's first full length release since 2007's "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga."
April 8, 2009 - The members of indie-pop group Mates of State, Kori Gardner and Jason Hammel, are indeed mates. Married with two young children, the duo might not have planned to raise a family while attempting to launch a successful band, but they seem to be managing both in stride.
