December 21, 2009 - The 16th installment of "Twisted," Chicago radio station Q101-FM's annual holiday concert event, will be a hard one to top. The 2009 event was expanded from 3 to 5 days, selling out all but one night.
July 23, 2009 - Organizers of the in-progress Vans Warped Tour will celebrate its 15th anniversary this September with a one-night-only exclusive movie theater event.
July 15, 2009 - Fronted by lefty guitarist Tim Armstrong, Nor-Cal ska/punk veterans Rancid are credited with reviving interest in the genre during the mid-'90s. The lineup still maintains three of the four members who formed the group in 1991. In 1993, they invited a friend by the name of Billie Joe Armstrong, who co-wrote their single "Radio," to join Rancid, but he chose to stick with his group Green Day.
November 21, 2008 - The Cure, The Offspring and Stone Temple Pilots are among the acts scheduled to appear at the annual KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas concerts, which are being held Dec. 13-14 at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles.
November 11, 2008 - The members of Chicago melodic-punk band Rise Against are probably impressed with California voters for passing Prop 2 last week--the ballot measure calling for more humane treatment of farm animals--as they are all strict vegetarians and active supporters of PETA. If you've seen the video for "Ready to Fall," you are already well aware of their stance on the matter.
