December 31, 2010 - The year 2010 was only about seven months long for SoundSpike -- we officially launched in June. Nonetheless, the photo team wasted no time getting highlights of the summer festival circuit (including Coachella and Lollapalooza) the hottest A-List names ( Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift), reunion and farewell tours ( Pavement, Brooks & Dunn), legendary artists ( Paul McCartney, B.B. King), as well as plenty of rising stars (Ke$ha, Adam Lambert).
October 1, 2010 - "Cut My Hair" was the first song played on one of the last stops of Pavement's summer reunion tour, less a call to arms than an opportunity to get the "hit" out of the way so that this revolutionary-at-the-time indie-rock unit could get on with being themselves.
July 21, 2010 - The Virgin Mobile FreeFest, a free music festival scheduled to take place Sept. 25 at the Washington, DC-area's Merriweather Post Pavilion, will sport a lineup that includes M.I.A., LCD Soundsystem, Pavement, T.I. and Ludacris.
June 27, 2010 - Pavement is currently on the road with one of the more enthusiastically received of the current crop of reunion tours. Their June 24 show in Stockton, CA -- a homecoming of sorts -- garnered enough hometown pride that the band was introduced by the town's mayor, and frontman Stephen Malkmus regaled the crowd with tales of play-spots gone by.
April 23, 2010 - Many have tried but only a few have come close to stealing the crown from the king of live music festivals in the US: the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, which takes place annually in the desert town of Indio, CA, a couple of hours drive outside of Los Angeles.
April 14, 2010 - Music fans and performers alike will gather again on a green field in the middle of the Southern California desert for three days of music, art, community and other entertainment.
March 2, 2010 - Pavement has lined up additional dates on its 2010 comeback trail, including a full slate of US headlining shows to go along with a previously slotted four-night New York City run.
February 8, 2010 - Modest Mouse, LCD Soundsystem and a reunited Pavement head the initial lineup unveiled by organizers of the 2010 Pitchfork Music Festival.
