March 6, 2009 - When heavy-metal veterans Def Leppard originally formed in 1977, they called themselves Deaf Leopard--but quickly altered the spelling in homage of Led Zeppelin.
By 1979, they had a loyal following and were credited as leading the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. In 1983 the single "Photograph," from their set "Pyromania," launched Def Leppard into the stratosphere. With the success of the singles "Rock of Ages" and "Foolin'," the album was so hot it reportedly sold six million copies in that year alone and is now certified Diamond by the RIAA, representing US shipment of 10 million copies. It's considered a classic.
Fans can catch Def Leppard this summer throughout the US and Canada when they tour in support of their new album, "Songs from the Sparkle Lounge"--an outing scheduled to begin June 23 in Camden, NJ.

The order requires the Myrtle Beach-based rock-and-roll theme park to turn over all its assets and records to a trustee for liquidation.
December 11, 2008 - If you're a fan of Coheed & Cambria you already know--the band's modus operandi so far has been to to illustrate the concepts in "The Amory Wars." Frontman Claudio Sanchez is the author of the the science-fiction comic-book series for which the band has produced four concept albums paralleling the plot.
October 28, 2008 - Ten months after playing their first full-length concert in almost three decades, members of legendary rock group Led Zeppelin appear poised to mount a full-blown tour--with one catch: frontman Robert Plant won't be participating.
June 10, 2008 - Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones joined the Foo Fighters on stage during the encore of band's June 7 show at Wembley Stadium. The Led Zeppelin members performed two songs, "Rock and Roll" and "Ramble On," with Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins--who alternated between singing and playing drums, according to a press release.
