Major Artists Support Voter Registration

Several major touring artists--including Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Ani DiFranco, Wilco, Foo Fighters and Megadeth--have joined forces with the nonpartisan voter registration group HeadCount to sign up new voters at their concerts this year.

Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry and Iggy & The Stooges are among the newly announced acts joining the eclectic lineup at the 3rd annual Virgin Mobile Festival, scheduled to be held Aug. 9-10 at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, MA. Previously announced headliners Foo Fighters, Jack Johnson, Kanye West, Nine Inch Nails and Stone Temple Pilots also will be joined by The Offspring, Wilco, Cat Power, Paramore and The Swell Season.

Beck, Wilco, Ben Harper, Steve Winwood and Widespread Panic are among the newly-announced acts joining headliners Radiohead, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Jack Johnson for the three-day Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival taking place in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park Aug. 22-24, according to a press release. Described by organizers as a multi-faceted festival, Outside Lands is expected to offer-up an eclectic lineup of artists and a broad range of other entertainment and amusement options, including interactive attractions, performance artists and art installations.
