January 26, 2011 - A week after indie-rock stalwarts Cake shocked the world by having a No. 1 album, in comes Portland, OR's the Decemberists atop the nation's album sales chart. "The King is Dead," the Decemberists' sixth album, sold a healthy 94,000 copies to take the pole position, according to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.
December 6, 2010 - Cake will follow up a handful of holiday radio concerts and a New Year's Eve celebration with a club tour supporting its January release, "Showroom of Compassion."

November 16, 2010 - Approaching its 20th anniversary, the alternative rock band Cake will celebrate the release of its sixth studio album, "Showroom of Compassion," on Jan. 11. This follows 2004's "Pressure Chief," and comes out on Cake's own label, Upbeat Records, via Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group.
