September 30, 2009 - When Alice in Chains frontman Layne Staley died of a drug overdose in 2002, the long-dormant band presumably died with him. His unique voice and eerie delivery was such a defining element of the Seattle-based group's sound, it seemed unthinkable that a post-Staley incarnation of the group was possible.

June 12, 2009 - Alice in Chains' newly-named, upcoming album, "Black Gives Way To Blue," is set for a Sept. 29 release, according to a press statement. The record will be the band's first new studio recording in more than 10 years, and the first with new vocalist William DuVall.
April 28, 2009 - Jerry Cantrell will perform at a fundraiser for Wayne Kramer this Friday (5/1) at New York City's Nokia Theater in Times Square, according to a press release. The Alice In Chains' co-vocalist/guitarist will honor the MC5 punk-rock pioneer and activist along with several special guests including Iggy Pop, Tom Morello and Perry Farrell. All of the money raised at the benefit concert will go directly to support the treatment of children and young adults who suffer from adversities such as addiction, physical and sexual abuse and chronic illness.
September 21, 2007 - Reunited grunge pioneers Alice in Chains, currently on an arena tour with fellow rockers Velvet Revolver, will continue their revival later this fall with a series of "unplugged" shows sans Velvet Revolver.
July 24, 2007 - Original "American Idol" winner Kelly Clarkson has waved the white flag and ended what many had perceived to be a public feud with music mogul Clive Davis, a characterization that sprang from Clarkson's admission that she had spurned Davis's input on her most-recent album, "My December."
