Country outfit Alabama will celebrate their 40th anniversary with a scattered excursion that kicks off at the same club where the band performed its first concert.
A Sept. 2 benefit show by the country band Alabama raised $169,467 for the city of Tuscaloosa, AL's Storm Recovery Fund, the city announced this week.
Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow, Dierks Bentley, Martina McBride and Montgomery Gentry are among the acts that have been recruited by the country group Alabama to play at a June 14 benefit in Birmingham, AL, dubbed "'Bama Rising: A Benefit Concert for Alabama Tornado Recovery." "Guilty Pleasures," the second collaborative album from and the Barbra Streisand Bee Gees' , will hit stores Sept. 20, according to Columbia Records. Barry Gibb Alabama, which last year launched what it says is its final tour, has extended the run well into the fall. Singer/songwriter will issue her first-ever concert DVD next month. Jewel Longtime country favorites Alabama have added about 30 new cities to their farewell tour, a move that will keep the band on the road well into 2004. Alabama heads out on its "American Farewell Tour" in June, and will stretch its goodbye outing well into the fall.
