English pop legend Robyn Hitchcock is using his SXSW performance to mark the kick off of his tour accompanied by Sean Nelson and R.E.M.'s Peter Buck. The shows coincide with the premiere of the John Edginton-helmed documentary "Robyn Hitchcock: Sex, Food, Death and Insects" at the SXSW film festival. Hitchcock is also celebrating the March 6 release of an EP titled "Sex, Food Death and Tarantulas," which builds on the work of Hitchcock's recent CD with the Venus 3, "Ole! Tarantula." "I'm celebrating 30 years as a recording artist, and every one of those years is a big round cake with a candle of love flaming out of it," Hitchcock said in a press statement. --Christina Fuoco-Karasinski
