April 15, 2011 - PJ Harvey kicked off a micro tour -- 3 dates to be exact -- in San Francisco last night (4/14) in support of her eighth studio album, "Let England Shake." The outing, which also features longtime friends and collaborators John Parish and Mick Harvey, includes a set this Sunday (4/17) as part of the Coachella Music and Arts Festival.
February 18, 2011 - Early word on "Let England Shake" hailed PJ Harvey's latest release as a return to form, a natural tag to slap on a performer who hasn't released a full-band alternative rock album since 2004's "Uh Huh Her," and who in recent years has seemed more interested in keeping away from the limelight than in living up to people's expectations.
April 22, 2009 - Alt-rock queen PJ Harvey and guitarist/songwriter John Parish will hit the road in June for additional US dates behind their latest joint effort, "A Woman a Man Walked By."
February 27, 2009 - Girl guitar pioneer PJ Harvey's story is relatively well known, but current compatriot John Parish will be something of a mystery to many fans who only know Harvey's work. The two worked together in the band Automatic Dlamini in the late '80s before Harvey left to begin her impressive solo career, while Parish went on to produce albums by Tracy Chapman and Eels, among others. The two collaborated on the 1996 album "Dance Hall at Louse Point," an avant-garde effort that was reportedly denigrated by Harvey's record-label bosses as "commercial suicide." Thirteen years later, the pair has followed it up with "A Woman a Man Walked By." Harvey, whose most recent solo effort was 2007's "White Chalk," provides the vocals and the lyrics; Parish, who wrote the music, plays guitar. The set is scheduled for release in late March.
August 31, 2007 - PJ Harvey is back with her first studio set in three years, and the eccentric British singer/songwriter is planning a couple of US concerts to show off the new material.
