February 11, 2003 - The Other Ones, the name that the remaining members of the Grateful Dead sometimes have toured under since the death of singer/guitarist Jerry Garcia, have been re-dubbed the Dead.
November 24, 2000 - Perhaps it’s the hangover from the bloated New Year’s Eve shows of 1999, when high ticket prices and fears of the Y2K bug resulted in poor attendance and huge financial losses for some concert promoters. Whatever the cause, New Year’s Eve 2000 is shaping to be a relatively sedate date on the U.S. concert front.
August 16, 2000 - Three weeks into rehearsals for this year’s Furthur Festival, the Other Ones are fine-tuning a blend of Grateful Dead standards and a smattering of new songs.
June 22, 2000 - John Molo, drummer for Grateful Dead offshoot the Other Ones, won't appear on the upcoming Furthur Festival tour due to "scheduling conflicts," according to Grateful Dead Productions. Bill Kreutzmann, a 30-year veteran of the Grateful Dead, will fill in on the drums for the duration of the tour.
June 8, 2000 - The Furthur Festival, which was first assembled in 1996 by surviving members of the Grateful Dead, will return to the road for a month-long jaunt that begins on Aug. 23 near San Diego, according to Grateful Dead Productions. Headlining band the Other Ones will be joined by Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers on all dates.
