October 13, 2011 - Joe "Taz" DiGregorio, the longtime keyboardist for The Charlie Daniels Band who co-wrote "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" and many of Daniels' other popular songs, died Wednesday (10/12) in a single-car accident in Cheetham County, TN. He was 67.
February 2, 2001 - The 2001 edition of the Charlie Daniels Band's Volunteer Jam will feature the package tour’s namesake, the Dickey Betts Band and .38 Special, according to tour sources. The month-long, 15-city expedition is scheduled to open in May.
March 15, 2000 - The Charlie Daniels Band's Volunteer Jam--which was born in Nashville in 1974 and became a traveling show last year--will return to the road in May. Hank Williams Jr. will share the bill with Daniels for all but one show on the tour.
