June 18, 2001 - Puerto Rican rockers Puya issued "Union," their second MCA release, on June 12. Produced by GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine, Kittie, Mudvayne) and Mudrock (Godsmack, Powerman 5000), the music on "Union" is a curious blend of hardcore metal and Caribbean rhythms--featuring the likes of trumpet player Juancito Torres and old school rumba percussionists Cachete Maldonado, Anthony Carrillo, Raphael Vargas and Hector Lebron.
December 21, 1999 - The line-up of System of a Down, Incubus, Mr. Bungle, and Puya will hit the road for the 30-city Sno-Core 2000 tour, which is scheduled to kick off on Jan. 15 near San Diego. The tour is marketed as a snow-sport lifestyle event and is scheduled to play theater-sized venues through February.
